Sonogram pictures

Today I had a doctor's appointment and they did the in-depth sonogram where they measure and check to make sure everything is okay with the baby. Everything looked great! This will be my last sonogram for awhile, and as much as I like seeing the baby, I am a little relieved. I am always nervous I will accidently see something or they might slip and tell me. The sonogram tech told me she didn't even look, so it looks like only God knows what this baby is! :) When she pushed the button to make the picture in 3D, all I saw was Mason. I was shocked at how they already resemble each other. I came home and pulled out Mason's sonogram and they really look like mirror images of each other!

Here is Baby #2 at 17 weeks

The top picture is Mason at 20 weeks and the bottom is baby #2 at 17. They have the same mouth for sure!
Since they look so much alike right now, it really makes me think we have another boy. Who knows...only 23 more weeks until we know for sure!

LifeSpeak Party

Our Sunday School class had a party at Painting with a Twist on Monday night. Greg and Jean, from our class, own PWAT. They were nice enough to let us have a get together there. We also raised money for Neil and Beau, who are going to Haiti with our church in February. We had a good turnout and a great time painting together. Matthew and I feel so blessed that we have found such good friends!

Matthew beat me on this one. My cross is a little messed up! :)
The group that made it. There are 5 of us that are having babies this summer. So fun!

Iphone pics

I realized I have a ton of pictures of Mason on my phone. I just wanted to have them on this blog too. They aren't the best quality, but they capture our little man!

When my parents were keeping Mason, he told Papa he wanted to sleep with his boots on. So he did! :)

Having a "serious" discussion with Daddy

Morning fun!

Listening to Aunt CC's Ipod. It didn't take him long to figure out how to work it!

I was getting our dinner ready, and he stopped me and said "Mommy, pray". I love those little hands!

After school snack at Sonic. He loves sitting in the front seat with me!

Reading his books before bed. He looks so big to me! I love that little pointer finger "reading" the book!

He had "Take your Bear to school day". He was so excited to take it!

16 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 16 Weeks
Size of baby: About the size of an avocado (4.5 inches and 3.5 oz)
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Lost 1 pound
Maternity Clothes: Still in regular clothes, but won't be long before I need maternity pants
Gender: ??
Movement: I think I felt some little flutters the other day, but nothing definite yet
Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty good. I go to bed by usually 9:00 every night!
What I miss: Nothing really - maybe sleeping on my stomach or that occasional glass of wine
Cravings: I'm finally hungry, but just in the morning and afternoon. Food doesn't really sound good after about 4:00pm. I do crave Sour Patch Kids, orange juice, and pickles (I think I'm eating about a jar a week!)
Symptoms: So, so Tired, no matter how much I sleep. Lots of heartburn (which is why I can't eat at night) and I get a headache everyday around 3 or 4 that lasts an hour or two.
Best Moment this week: Just enjoying being pregnant!

How I told the good news

(This happened back at the end of October, but since I am making this blog into a book for us, I want to have it documented.)

I have always liked to tell Matthew that we are expecting in some sort of way besides just "telling" him. He's kind of oblivious as the when the time is that I can take a test so that helps a little. I had a couple of tests at the house, so one morning I took it, and after waiting 3 minutes it came up Pregnant. I, of course started crying and was so so excited. I still don't know how I kept it to myself all day! I decided to set up a scavenger hunt for when Matthew got home from work. I realize that after Matthew saw the first clue that he knew what was going on, but I didn't care! It was still fun, and Mason loved going around the house with him.

Clue #1 (orange juice)
Clue #2 (His Iphone)
Clue #3 (DVR)
Clue #4 (Lovey sleeps in Mason crib)
Clue #5 (oven)

I find it kind of funny that Mason took a big bite out of the "baby"! I hope he is nicer to his baby brother/sister! :)
I will be 16 weeks on Monday. Hard to believe I'm almost half way there. Everything is going great with the baby and we are not going to find out what we are having. I'm really thinking its another boy, so we will see! I'll probably start doing belly pics/pregnant updates next week.

Our week

Mason hasn't been feeling well off and on all week. He was running a pretty high fever Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so I went ahead and took him to the doctor. His flu test was negative, and she said it was just a viral infection. He was feeling better on Thursday, so he went back to school and did fine there. It was so strange, one minute he would be acting his normal self, dancing around the house, and then it was like a switch went off and he would cry and just want to be held. Thursday night was the worst (and of course Matthew was out of town!) He had a bad cough, which kept him up the majority of the night. He would wake up crying and then fall asleep, and then start coughing/crying all over again. I felt like I had a newborn again! We didn't get much sleep at all that night. He slept until 9:30 this morning, so I'm glad he finally got some good sleep. He is just laying on Matthew's chest as I type this, so I guess he still doesn't feel great. Hopefully we don't have to make another trip to the doctor and next week is a better week!

This is how we know he doesn't feel good! He NEVER falls asleep in our arms. He has been doing this pretty much everyday! I do love the extra snuggle time though! :)

Then he will wake up, and be in a great mood for a little while! He loved painting and I just think he looks so cute in his Buzz attire!

Christmas Part 2

My family came in the Thursday night before New Years. We didn't do much but watch football and watch the kids run around the house. Mason hadn't seen Brianne and Brayden since September, so they all had a lot of fun together. Mason copied everything Brianne did. Poor Brayden broke his arm a few days before, but his cast didn't slow him down a bit. On Saturday night, my parents kept all the kids so we could go to dinner with Brian and Kim. It was a fun weekend with the family. I'm so glad that Mason has cousins his age, if only we got to see them more!

We lit fireworks on NYE

Mason wasn't sure what to think about fireworks.
Presents!

He loves his piano from Mimi and Papa
We also celebrated Brayden's birthday. He turned 2 on January 12.
