Shreveport Meets Denver Day 2

We all slept in on Sunday morning (thanks to Evie and Mason for sleeping in too!).  We went to the mall for a little more shopping and then came back to the house for naps.  Neil found a restaurant for us to go to on the Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives website so we went there before the game.  Steuben's was a fun diner with delicious home cooking.  I know we will be going back there!
We rode the train to the stadium and got there right before kick off.  We were all afraid that we would freeze to death, but luckily it wasn't as cold as it had been and we were warm all bundled up.  The game went by so fast, and unfortunately the Saints didn't play very well.  It was still a fun time though.
The next morning they all left to go back home.  It was so good to see our friends, but it just went by way too fast.  I hope they can come back next year and bring the kids!

Shreveport Meets Denver Day 1

We were so excited that Neil, Lindsey, Beau, and Leigh all came to visit us this weekend.  When Matthew told the guys from Shreveport about our move to Denver, they immediately decided they were coming for the Saints/Broncos game.  We decided to fly Aunt CC down here to keep the kids so we could enjoy some adult time in Denver.
They all had a super early flight from Dallas, so we went straight to breakfast when they got here on Saturday.  We left around lunchtime to head downtown for the rest of the day.  The boys went straight to the bars and us girls went straight to H&M.  After shopping and lunch, we headed to our appointments at Fluff bar.  It was a really modern spa/salon where we were pampered all the while having a few cocktails.  We each had our hair, makeup, and nails done.  We felt like movie stars because we each had two or three people working on us at a time.
After we were finished, we headed to meet the guys at a bar and then had a fun dinner.  They were all exhausted so we called it a night.  We had to get ready for game day!

After-  don't we look fancy?!  Lindsey even had a fancy shirt change.  :)  We all opted for curls and a braid.  Such fun!

Snow and Pumpkins

We had a busy and fun weekend.  It started with the arrival of Aunt CC on Thursday night.  We hadn't seen her since we moved, so it was a much needed visit.  It snowed Wednesday through Friday, so we woke up on Friday morning to make a snowman and snow ice cream.  Friday night we had chili and carved our pumpkin.
The rest of the weekend will need a post of its own.  Coming soon!

Evie watching us through the window.  She slept late and would have rather eaten breakfast than play with us.  There will be plenty more snow for her to play in this winter!
meet Snowy!

Snow ice cream was so good!

Aunt CC will do whatever Mason wants!  :)

Oh how these two love each other

Mason didn't want any of the patterns on his pumpkin.  He requested a happy face with triangle eyes and a circle nose...so that is what he got!

Day at the Museum

We had a fun morning at the museum with friends.  We haven't been since before Evie was walking, so  she was looking at it from a whole new world.  Mason was so excited to play with Ava outside of school.  Those two walk everywhere holding hands like a sweet old couple.  :)

These two are inseparable!

Mason loved the new Kinetics section.  He stayed here forever and watched all these balls.

I love the sweet moments that they actually play together.

His little engineer brain is trying to figure out how it all works.

Family pictures Sneak Peak

I found a great photographer here and was excited to get our pictures taken in the pretty trees and mountains.  Our session was in the morning and of course that day was cloudy, windy, and 40 degrees, so Mason was refusing to take pictures because he was cold.  We literally only took pictures for about twenty minutes since Mason wasn't participating.  She did manage to get these three shots and I was very impressed!  We did another session last weekend and Mason was great, so I can't wait to see how they all turned out.

This smile is thanks to Granna who was doing cartwheels.  Evie is just looking at her like she was crazy!  :)

Weekend with Pops

We were happy that Pops was able to come and see us last weekend.  He was able to go with us to swim class, see Mason's soccer game, and come along to see our family pictures.  We spent the rest of the weekend watching football and eating.  We also got to see Matthew's Uncle Neal too, so we had a full house and a fun time.

Mason had his last soccer game on Sunday.  Our team has never made a goal all season (sounds like last year's season!) and Mason made a goal the last second of the game.  I wish that I had it on video because it was the cutest thing ever.  You would have thought he won the world cup!  I guess we will be doing Spring soccer as well!  I took this picture because Mason said, "mommy take a picture of my score face."  :)

Show and Tell

Mason had his first show and tell last week. He was supposed to bring something having to do with Autumn. Lezlee gave me the great idea to do "the smells of autumn" so I made this work. Mason loved getting to help put it together. We got a decorating mix of pine cones, acorns, and leaves and then poured pumpkin spice oil on it.
His teacher said he did so great explaining it to the kids and letting them smell it.
