Granna Comes to Town

Granna came to visit last week.  It had been four months since she had seen the kids (Charlotte was two days old the last time she saw her) so it was a much needed trip.  We filled up our days at the parks, zoo, botanical garden, baseball game, and plenty of play time at the house.

proof she was with us at the zoo

we had the best time watching this ape

doesn't every little girl need a lipstick touch up at the zoo?

every morning they played Sorry and CandyLand

mani and pedi for the princess

We loved the Chihuly exhibit at the botanical gardens

I have no idea how photographers do it.  I tried to get a picture of all three of them and this was the best one I got.  It's not even good!  My kids cannot stand to have the sun in their eyes, so it is always impossible to get a good picture without their sunglasses on.  There are a ton of hilarious bloopers, but these are a couple of the best.  ha!

this makes me laugh out loud

oh well, better luck next time!

Summer of FUN

I can't get over how much fun we are having this summer.  I feel like we have this three kid thing down (for now), and we are just enjoying every minute of it.  This has been the best summer we have had since being in Colorado.  The first summer I was just adjusting to the move and learning the ropes, and then last summer we moved and I had horrible morning sickness.
Mason and Evie have had a few days of camp at their school, but other than that we are enjoying the nice summer weather and all there is to do here.

This was taken right after his very first hit in a game.  He had been sooo close for weeks, but always fell short and had to hit it off of the tee.  His face after getting that first single was priceless!  He has been hitting it ever since.

Enjoying a spa day while the boys were gone for the weekend.

Shep loves Charlotte and just kept going over to kiss her toes.

This girl is fearless.  I love that she loves to climb and get dirty, all while wearing a dress and bow!

Popcorn and movie in pi's...nothing better!

Macie is here!  We were so excited to go meet her after being only a couple of hours old.

sweet Shep- love this boy!

Miss Laura, Mason's JK teacher, came to watch one of his games.  He was so excited to see her.

Mason loved getting to play against Isaac, Gavin and Laith.  They were the only boys in the class last year and became really good buddies.

First time in the swing that Papa put up for her.

More play time with Macie.  Can't wait to watch these girls grow up and try to keep up with the big kids!
Neil had a horrible layover/delay in Denver so Matthew got to go pick him up for lunch and beers.  Lindsey and I were texting them to be sure to take a picture together, and after giving us a hard time, they did it.  Such good husbands!  :)

The Start of a Tradition

Matthew has decided that he wants to take Mason to a game at every MLB ballpark before he goes to college.  They had their first trip last weekend to Kansas City to watch the Royals play the Tigers.  They left early on Saturday morning and got to their hotel for lunch and swimming.  The hotel had a water park next door, so they spent the afternoon there.  They went back to their room for a little nap before the game, and then came home on Sunday afternoon.  They both had so much fun, minus the part where Mason was exhausted saying he didn't want to go to game, ha!  Mason quickly changed his mind and loved it all.
I'm not sure which one of them had more fun.  I love the father/son relationship they are building and can't wait for them to go on many more trips.  Matthew is buying shirts from every park, and I plan to have a tshirt quilt made to send with him to college.  We have a couple of more ideas of things we are going to do with pictures and such and the years come along.   I can't wait for the day that Mason can truly appreciate what his Daddy is doing for him!

such a tired face
this says something because he never naps anymore!
