Weekend with Cousins

We were so excited that Brian, Kim, my mom, and the kids were coming to see us.  We hadn't seen my brother and family in over a year!  They were really hoping to see snow, but of course we had it the day before they got here and the day after they left.
Friday night we went to Chuck E Cheese to let them run around and play.  Saturday we went ice skating and the rest of the weekend was just spent at the house playing and at the park.  The three big kids all played really well together and had the best time.  They left on Monday afternoon and that night at 7:00 Mason asked if he could go to bed.  Pretty sure he has never said those words before!  He was one tired boy.  Hopefully it won't be a year before we see them again.

They were here about five minutes before the boys had to dress up.

Evie's First Haircut

I decided it was time to get Evie's hair cut (or really trimmed!).  It was just dead on the ends and the curls were getting really tangled.  I took her to Kaitlyn, the sweet girl who does my hair and also cuts Mason's.  Evie knew what to expect since she goes with us to Mason's appointments, so I knew she wouldn't freak out.  She kept saying she was going to sit down and look in the mirror with a towel around her.
She really got the royal treatment.  Everyone was oohing and ahhing over her which she loved.  She sat perfectly still and did what she was told.  Afterwards, Kaitlyn blow-dried, curled, and braided her hair.  Then she got to go to the makeup counter for lipgloss!  Little diva!  She is now requesting this treatment every night after bath.  ha!

Matthew told Evie to tell Kaitlyn to only cut "a little bit" and that is what she did.  Even now if you ask her about her haircut she will say, "just a little bit so I am still a princess!"

Looks so much better!

January Happenings

Just some random pictures from this month!

shaving with daddy

so cute!

These boys are into Legos.  They have spent many Saturday afternoons putting all sorts of things together.  I'm impressed with Mason's attention span- a couple of them have taken a couple of hours to put together!

Grilling on the Egg

She still loves her books.  If she is not playing with her babies or cooking, this is where you will find her. ( I still really need to get her her own chair!)

One day I told her to go get some clothes out of her drawers to get dressed.  She came back with a leotard, tutu, and ballet slippers!  She keeps asking when she can go to dance…I hope she still wants to in the fall!
Spending a rare warm day outside with bubbles and chalk

These two love talking about the baby.  We were all watching tv on the couch one night and they just lifted up my shirt and laid down on me.  Mason said, "the baby can feel us hugging him.  He makes a good pillow too!"

He loves going skiing with Daddy.  They seem to have a lot of fun and come home worn out!

We spent a Saturday morning at the Children's Museum.  It was fun to show Matthew since he had never been with us before.

Mason is still really into art and drawing.  I love this stage of drawing!

32 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 32 weeks
Size of baby: About 3 pounds and 16 inches (according to baby center)

Total Weight Gain: 22 pounds
Maternity Clothes: all maternity
Gender: ???  I think we are finally set on names.  My official guess is that this baby is a boy. (The heart rate has been in the 140's the past few appointments and that is what Mason's always was)
Movement: This baby is constantly moving.  I feel him/her the most early in the morning or late at night before I go to sleep.
Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty good, but starting to have to wake up in the night to go to bathroom
What I miss: Just feeling good and not aching at the end of the day
Cravings: Honeycrisp apples and string cheese, cuties, chocolate, Mexican food, water, orange juice
Symptoms: Heartburn, leg cramps at night, lower back pain.  I've been having some cramping in my stomach and I think some Braxton Hicks.  I must be sleeping wrong because my left shoulder is constantly in knots.
Best Moments this week: I took the kids with me to the doctor today and they loved hearing the heartbeat.  I'm pretty sure Evie thought the baby was going to come out today because she seemed really confused that she couldn't say hi to the baby.  Mason said he thinks the baby must be really happy because the heartbeat sounded happy.  :)
