2013 Year in Review

JANUARY

It seems like January and February were pretty laid back months for us.  We did love that the Hernandez family came to visit!

FEBRUARY

We experienced our first of many "real" snows of 12+ inches.  We pretty much hibernated this month and found stuff to do inside.

MARCH

My parents came during their Spring Break and I flew to San Antonio for Caroline's Bachelorette weekend.

APRIL

We celebrated Easter with Donna, Sarah, and Jordan.  Evie flew on her first flight to Dallas for a whirlwind weekend of wedding showers for Aunt CC and Uncle Eric.  We took Mason to a Ranger game.

MAY

We flew back to Dallas for the wedding weekend.  Mason played in his first season of t-ball. We bought a house and moved (again!) and I celebrated turning 32 with friends.

JUNE

Mason had his first weekly camp- Zoo Camp.  I got to go on the most fun girls' trip to San Francisco.  My parents came for a week and we took them to Vail.  We celebrated baby girl turning two!

JULY

We took our annual 4th of July mountain trip to Steamboat Springs.  We found out we were having another precious baby (even though we kept this secret until Sept!) and we went to Crested Butte with the Brown's.

AUGUST

We enjoyed our last days of summer.  Mason started JrK and Evie started her first year at playschool.

SEPTEMBER

We celebrated Mason's 5th birthday with Granna, Caroline, Eric, Sarah, and Jordan at the bowling alley.  Mason started his fourth season of soccer.

OCTOBER

We celebrated our eighth anniversary in Scottsdale.  Mason had his surgery and we had a ninja and Dorothy for Halloween.

NOVEMBER

We had a fun family weekend to Colorado Springs.  Our Thanksgiving plans changed at the last minute, but we were glad Granna could come and see us.

DECEMBER

We made another trip to the North Pole.  We had our first Christmas in our new home and we had another great trip to Winter Park.

What a great year we have had!  I'm looking forward to an even better 2014 with the arrival of our newest addition.

Winter Park Days 3 & 4

As much fun as we were having, we also had a lot of sickness going on.  Jordan got food poisoning and was not feeling well for a day or two and Granna had bronchitis so spent a lot of time resting in the house.  We just tried to make the most of it.
The house had a great winding driveway, so they spent lots of time sledding.  We also went to the Rec Center for swimming.  It was a pretty nice indoor facility with slides, a lazy river, and splash/play area.  I even took Evie back to the pool when the others went tubing.  Being seven months pregnant, there was not much I could do but watch everyone else have the fun.  Hoping next year I can participate in the fun!

This is standing by the garage as they started going down.  The one time Matthew tried to take Evie down he flew off the edge of the driveway about where he is in this picture.  They just flew over that curve and landed in a foot of snow and she was not happy about it!

now I am standing at the end watching

bobsled team?!

They were starting to get creative

They all would crash into this snow bank at the end

Mason did this over and over and over again.  Every time I thought he would hurt himself, but he loved it.  His little body would just fly off the sled and hit the snow so hard.

This is the only picture I got from when they went tubing.

Sister likes to be indoors in the warm water over the cold!

Winter Park- Ski Day

The second day was all about skiing.  Matthew and Mason have their own skis this year, but this was the first time they were able to go.  They all went to a smaller ski area than last year, and I think they all had a good time.  We decided to put Mason in a two hour ski school to help him remember what to do and so that Matthew could ski with the big kids before skiing the afternoon with Mason.  Donna and I took Evie for a little while so we could watch, but she was not in the best of moods since she was cold.  We left and went back to the house and left all of them to ski.  Mason skied several greens with Matthew and loved every second of it.  I think we for sure have a little ski bum on our hands.  I can't wait to see how much better he gets this season.  The big kids had fun, but were all pretty sore when they got home.

We took this with the self timer before we left.  This was the view from the front door.

Mason loves being with the big boys!
