Memorial Day

Today we met the Lewis', Smith's, and Buteau's out at Eastridge. They always have a Memorial Day BBQ and we knew it would be crowded, so we decided to all meet out there at 11 to make sure we got some chairs. The place had so many pregnant mamas and kids today- it was so much fun! All of our kids just swam their little hearts out. We didn't leave until 4:30. Mason was in the water the whole time except for about 30 minutes to eat. He was one tired little boy when we left!

You can't go swimming without getting an Icee
Mason and Bennett showing each other their hats
Briggs and Brown were so content!
This is what Mason did the whole time. He would jump off the step over and over again!

I love these next pictures:

Walking out to car
In the parking lot
Not even 1 minute after being in the car:
He was OUT!! :)
Mason already has a tan after today. There is nothing I love more than a tan little boy who smells of chlorine and sunscreen! We are looking forward to many more summer days at the pool!

Lazy Summer Weekend

We have had a great weekend at home with no big plans. We have spent just about every minute outside playing. (Well, really, I just sit and watch the boys play!) Matthew has been wearing Mason out- he has taken 3-4 hour naps on Friday, Saturday and today and still falls right to sleep around 8:30 each night! I must say that Mason has been wearing Matthew out too! :)

Mason's new favorite past time is sitting outside eating pistachios with Matthew and watching the Rangers play (or Mavs). He can crack them and eat them so fast! He literally asks to eat "stachios" with Daddy after EVERY nap time!

We spent lots of time playing in the water hose

Playing some ball with Dad (love the way they are looking at each other!)

My little angel!
Look how Mason's hand is resting on his daddy.
Washing the cars

This picture is so cool! I caught it right as the sponge fell into the bucket.

I caught him giving himself a bath! :)

I have so enjoyed soaking up every minute we have left as a family of 3. I am in love with Mason at this age- he still throws fits every now and then, but overall he is so happy and SO funny! He seriously cracks Matthew and I up with the things that he says. I love, love, love that he is such a Daddy's boy and copies everything that Matthew does.

We are looking forward to spending tomorrow with friends at Eastridge for Memorial Day swimming!

Swim Lessons

Lindsey's friend, Amy, is a swim teacher at a swim club in town. She offered 2 week lessons, so we decided to put Mason in them. He and Bennett were the youngest in the group of 5. The first day was AWFUL! Mason cried the whole time and would not do anything he was supposed to. By day 3, he was loving it and still continues to. He would follow the simple instructions like kick his feet, float, blow bubbles and move his arms. I plan on continuing what he learned all summer, and hope he just gets better and better. He is like his daddy and loves the water!

These pictures are all from my phone, so not the best quality.
Mason is crying so hard here!

Now he is happy!

Swimming is hard work!!

The final lesson. They got a certificate and popsicle!

I can't wait to spend plenty of time at the pool this summer!

Celebration Weekend

We had a great weekend with family and friends. Friday, Donna, Aunt B, Aunt CC and Eric came to town. Saturday morning, Erinn, Lindsey, Kelsey, and Kelsey's mom hosted a baby brunch shower for me. Everything turned out so nice and I got several sweet little things for the baby.

Donna, me, Caroline and Sarah
The hostesses: Lindsey, Ann, me, Erinn, and Kelsey

The sparkling cider and cheese/grapes they had while guests arrived
The petits fours for dessert

Since we don't know if I am having a boy or girl, they decorated in all pink for me. I loved it!

I wish I would have gotten a picture of the food. It was all so wonderful!

Camila, Leslie, me and Sarah
The group

The favors that Lindsey made- chocolate covered pretzel sticks with a date on them to pray for the baby and me.

I was in love with all of the pink flowers everywhere!

Saturday night, we cooked a birthday dinner for me and Caroline. We had grilled chicken, corn on the cob, homemade mac and cheese, watermelon/avocado salad, and Strawn's pies for dessert.

Granna, Aunt CC and Eric left on Sunday after lunch. Aunt B is staying an extra day to play and help out with Mason.

Sunday night, the Lewis' had a Sunday School get together at their house. The weather was nice enough to let the kids run around in the sprinklers and let the adults talk. I can't even express how much we love this group of friends!

The divas of the group- Maddie, Caroline (going for the European look since she didn't have a swimsuit! ha!) and Georgia
Some of the girls- Erin, Erinn, Amy, Leslie, Lindsey and Lindsay (with Master Griller Neil in the background)

Not sure Brown and Briggs could be any cuter

Mason getting gas in his car from Georgia and Bennett

This kid LOVES him some watermelon. We had to cut him off after 4 HUGE slices!

Don't you love all the juice on his tummy?!

Georgia, Mason and Mason (look closely at the watermelon juice all over them!)

Not the best picture, but I wanted a group shot.
Beau and Leigh (and baby Jake due in 5 weeks) and Drew, Michael and Camila with Mason, us, Mason, Caroline, Lindsey (and baby Henry due in August), Neil (Bennett escaped the pic), Cole and Lindsay holding Amelie, Erin, Andre, Erinn, Trey, Georgia, Maddie, Brown and Briggs
I think Mason and Caroline have a little "thing" for each other. They always have so much fun together.
Pure joy! Can't get much cuter than this!

Mason was exhausted and fell right to sleep when we got home!
