Weekend in Dallas

Thursday afternoon, the kids and I drove to Ennis to see Matthew and Granna.  We were excited that Granna and Aunt CC took off of work on Friday so that we could go play in Dallas.  We got to Aunt CC's new apartment around noon and then went to play and eat at Chuck-e-Cheese.  Mason loved it.  He even thanked God for Chuck-e-Cheese, games, and pizza during his bedtime prayers!  After lunch we walked around the mall for a little bit and then went back to Ennis.
Saturday we drove about an hour and a half to Uncle Jerry's house to celebrate Papa's 85th birthday.  It was fun to see most of the family and get to catch up.  We drove back to Ennis that night and then the kids and I came back home on Sunday.  The kids both slept the majority of the way home which made it an easy trip.  Mason did have to stop once to go to the potty, but I just let him go on the side of the road so that I didn't have to get Evie out.  That is the nice thing about boys!

Evie graduates!

Evie graduated from Level 1 at Gymboree this week. You get to graduate when your child is sitting up and reaching for things. They sing a little song and blow bubbles for "graduation." A few of Evie's friends moved up too so we will all start Level 2 next week.

That night, Lindsey had us over for dinner. She invited Ashleigh and Ahni too since her husband works out of town during the week too.

Is it really winter?!

I can't believe this weather we are having!  We have had many days lately in the 60's and 70's which is just crazy.  The ice cream truck was even driving around our neighborhood this weekend!  With the nice weather, we have had fun going for walks and playing outside.  Evie sat in the swing for the first time and went for her first wagon ride.
She looks scared but she really loved it

I've got to find her an infant swing so we don't have to stuff her with blankets!

We had a great weekend with nothing planned.  We went out to eat Saturday night and then came home and built a pallet on the floor and watched a movie.  Mason thought this was the coolest thing ever!

out for our first wagon ride.  Mason liked having Evie in there with him except that she kept trying to get his juice out of the cup holder!

She loved seeing everything from this point of view.  Her head was on a swivel the whole time.

Evie is 7 months old

  • Size 3 diaper
  • You wear size 6 month and 6-9 month clothes
  • You eat 4 eight ounce bottles at 8, 12, 4, and 8.  You now eat breakfast which is oatmeal and fruit and dinner which is a fruit and veggie.  You love fruits and oatmeals and some of the veggies.  Peas and green beans are your least favorite.
  • We all think, even the pediatrician, that you have outgrown the laryngomalacia. You don't sound the way you used to and you eat your bottle so much faster than you used to.  I'm going to cancel your next ENT appointment in February because I don't want to put you through that pain again!
  • I went back to giving you your reflux medicine because you started spitting up again.  You are much happier when you get it.

  • You go to sleep around 8:00 and wake up around 7 usually.  Sometimes you start talking about 6:30, but I can usually give you your passy and you sleep for another hour or so.  You are hit or miss with sleeping.  Some nights you go all night without waking up, and sometimes I have to make the upstairs trek to give you your passy a couple of times a night.  You certainly keep me exhausted.  I love when Daddy is home on the weekends because he has to get up to give it to you!  We definitely have a love/hate relationship with that passy!
  • Big news this month is that you are officially a sitter!  You can't go from your tummy or back to sitting position yet, but I can just sit you down with some toys and you love to play.  I love that you can play by yourself while I try to do things around the house and I know you won't move!  You love your exersaucer and jumparoo too.
  • You are cooing a lot and "talking", but no real word sounds yet.  You usually wake up happy in the mornings and after naps and just talk to yourself for awhile before we have to go in and get you.
  • You still do great in the car.  You usually fall asleep as soon as we get moving.  We have another road trip this weekend (our first since Thanksgiving) so we will see how you do long distances.
  • I love your chubby cheeks!  That is the number one thing that people notice about you.  :)

  • You are still a mommy's girl.  You want to be near me all the time.  So far you do well when we drop you off at the nursery, but I have a feeling your separation anxiety will be coming soon!
  • You do love your daddy too.  His favorite thing is when you nap on him.  I think you have found a comfy little spot on his chest!
  • You love to pull and grasp anything and everything you can get your hands on.  My hair, necklace, mouth, and nose are your favorites.  You love to fall asleep with me holding you and your left hand holding onto either my mouth or nose.  It is the strangest thing.  You managed to sneak your first Chick fil a french fry today.  I kept pushing the tray away from you, but I looked down and you had grabbed a fry and were sucking on it!  I have a feeling you are going to be that kid we actually have to child proof things for!
  • No teeth yet but drooling constantly.  I pretty much have to have a bib on you at all times.
  • Your bubba LOVES to make you laugh!  The first thing he does when we pick him up from school is give you a kiss and then try to make you laugh.  You think he is pretty funny too!  As much as he loves you, you also are starting to bug him.  He gets upset when you try to reach for and take something from him or even if you just grab his shirt.  He'll say "stop touching me, Evie!"  It makes me laugh to think of all we have to look forward to with you pestering your big brother!  :)

Now I just need time to SLOW down a little bit!  You are growing up way too fast!

Our Week and other random pics

Last weekend my parents came and we were finally able to have Christmas with them.  They helped us out a lot too by keeping the kids so we could go to Lindsey's party, church, and Leslie's going away party.  Mason and Evie love being spoiled by Mimi and Papa!

Lindsey is 30!  We had a great time at her party!

A fun night with a fun group of friends!
yay it's Christmas again!  He got lots more fun stuff from my parents.

Here are some other random pictures from my phone.

I hope she loves pink as much as her momma!  :)

Our Wednesday routine is school, nap, playtime at Gymboree and then dinner at Jason's Jeli.  Mason always gets cheese pizza and then brown and white ice cream!  :)

I thought I would save me some time by bathing them together.  They had fun!

My little shopping buddy.  He LOVES to go to Target and the grocery store.  He must put every item on the counter and then knows exactly which buttons to push on the debit card machine.  I'm surprised he doesn't know my pin # yet!  He always tells me after leaving the store, "that was so fun mommy!"  (He especially loves to go when it is just me and him and I let him push the little cart by himself.  I can even tell him my list and he remembers it for me!)

Evie is at my favorite age too.  I love being able to sit her in one spot and she is content to play with toys and books.  I am in NO hurry for her to crawl! ha!
