Random Pictures

She is able to sit up for about 10 seconds before falling over

We dropped my mom off at the airport and right as we were leaving she started screaming.  I knew she was probably hungry so I just drove the 30 minutes home hoping she would stop crying.  When I got home to get her out this is how I found her.  Of course I had to take a picture before I helped her out!

The only time Evie likes to be in a picture is if it is a selfie.

I could watch her sleep all day long

This boy is looking more and more grown up

This is how she sleeps every time.  Looks like she is going to love her lovey too!

Having fun just us while the big kids were at school

He loves doing his homework.  It's the first thing he wants to do after getting home from school.

she is growing too fast!
A couple of stories I want to remember:

Me: "Evie come on we have to go pick up Mason."
Evie: "Ok hold on.  I need my phone and my lipstick!"

I got an American Girl doll magazine in the mail and gave it to her.  She looked at the cover and said OH. MY. GOD. this is the coolest thing I have ever seen.  (I have never heard her say that before and I told her she can't say it, but I laughed so hard!)  She said it long and drawn out like that too.

I was listening to Mason and Evie talking the other morning.  Mason said, "Evie, when we get big I will have to get up super early to go to work.  We won't live with mommy and daddy anymore.  We will share a bed and have kids."
He's almost got it figured out!  :)

Ballet

I'm pretty sure one of my first thoughts when Matthew said "it's a girl" was that I couldn't wait for her to start taking ballet.  Evie has been so excited to start even though she had no idea what to expect.  She is having a great time, and I am pretty sure there is not much cuter than little girls in leotards.  I cannot wait for the recital in June!

Evie's First Day of Preschool

Evie started in the preschool three's class this year.  She will be going on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:15-1:15.  She was so excited to go to school.  She was really struggling with Mason being gone all day.  I know she will have a great year!

When we asked her what she wanted to be she told me that she wants to be a mommy so she can cook dinner and wear big panties.  Then she said she wanted to be like Daddy and cook on the egg.  So funny!

Happy Birthday Mimi

My mom decided she couldn't wait until October to see the kids, so she came and spent her birthday week with us.  I got a massage and Matthew and I got three date nights while she was here.  It was a fun week!

Sophia and Cole

While we were in Ennis for the proposal we got to spend Friday at the Hernandez house.  Cole was only a week old and I was dying to meet him.  We only got to spend a few hours with them which is never enough.  Mason and Sophia had so much fun playing together and even let Evie play with them some.  We just love them so much!

She Said YES!

We have been planning Sarah's proposal since May, so we were so ready for it to get here.  Jordan wanted us all to be a part of it which we were so thankful for.  It all came together so perfectly, and I know Sarah loved it all!  I wish I had saved all the texts and emails between Donna, Caroline and I these last few months.  It was a very detailed day and I hope it turned out just the way he wanted it to.
The proposal:  Kylde Warren Park downtown Dallas.  Sarah had made plans to meet Kelsey and Brent for dinner at a restaurant in the park on Saturday night.  When they got there Jordan told her he had something else in mind and started walking with her.  Up the path in sidewalk chalk the verse Love is Patient and Kind were written.  That led them to a little table that Caroline had decorated with flowers.  He proposed in the rain and then the photographer took some pictures of them.  I love that the proposal was private, but that a photographer could capture it all.
Afterwards, a car came to pick them up and Jordan told her that she couldn't call anyone or ask any questions about what was next.  I know once they were on I45 she knew they were headed to Ennis, but she said she just thought she was going to see her parents.  The car pulled up to Bob and Suzi's and just about all of their family and friends were standing in the yard with champagne.  I'm pretty sure she first lost it when she saw Mason and Evie, and then again when she realized how far some friends and traveled to be with her.  Such a fun night and I feel so honored that we all got to be a part of it.  We are so happy to have Jordan become an official uncle next year!

I didn't get any pictures of the decor or food, but these cookies turned out really cute.

Terre, Taylor, and Kelsey
These next pictures are what the photographer captured during the actual proposal.

Jordan said he was so nervous, so he just started praying with her.

How beautiful is she?!  You would never know that it was raining on them the entire time.

Charlotte- Five Months

No doctor appointment this month

Clothes:  She is wearing 6 month clothes and size 2 diapers.

Eating:  She is starting to take 7-8 oz bottles.  I am working on getting her to only taking four bottles a day.  We started cereal, but most of it is getting on her clothes.  I'm sure she will get the hang of it soon!

Sleeping:  This has been a strange month for sleep.  She was great up until we got home from Mexico.  Since then, she has figured out how to roll over onto her tummy, but she can't get back over.  So she gets really mad and screams until we either give her a passy or roll her back over.  Some nights she doesn't wake up at all, but there have been some nights where we have had to go in there to adjust her a couple of times a night.  I think she wants to be a tummy sleeper, but she doesn't like the feeling of not being able to get back over when she wants.  I started putting her in a sleep sack too because I was feeling like maybe she was getting cold.  We will see what this next month holds!
We are in the process of figuring out our new nap schedule.  With drop off and pick up at two different schools for the big kids, I am trying to find the best times for her to get naps.  I'm just hoping she gets one good nap in her crib, the others will have to be in the car.

Likes:  being held, rolling onto her tummy,  playing on her mat, the swing, taking baths, watching Mason and Evie,  her passy, the bouncy seat, being outside, the ergo, she loves having a blanket or lovey against her cheek when she falls asleep, Sophie the giraffe, sitting in the bumbo, chewing on anything and everything

Dislikes:  being stuck on her stomach, being hungry

New this month:  Rolling over!  I'm ready for her to learn to roll from tummy to back, but when you lay her on her back she immediately rolls onto her tummy.  Mason and Evie were always the opposite.  We fed her cereal for the first time on August 10th.  She is still getting the hang of it.  She rode on an airplane and left the country for the first time.  She was sick for the first time.  She had horrible vomiting and diarrhea the week we got back from Mexico.  This left her with some horrible diaper rash which made her scream in pain for several days.  She bounced back pretty quick, thankfully!  She has also started one of my favorite baby things:  chewing on her toes!
