Spring Break in Abilene

I decided since Matthew was gone all week and Mason was out of school that it would be fun to get out of town.  We loaded up and headed to my parents house.  Mason had the best time and every night was dirty and exhausted from playing so hard.  We managed to fit a lot in in 4 days and I am glad we made the trip.

Girls Weekend

I had the most awesome weekend with Matthew's sisters and mom.  Donna gave us all a spa gift certificate for Christmas, and we turned it into a girls weekend.  It was also great because we got to celebrate Caroline's engagement.  I left Shreveport early Friday morning to drive to Ennis to meet Donna.  We then went to Dallas to meet Sarah and Caroline.  We looked at a reception site and then went wedding dress shopping.  I think we were all surprised that Caroline found the perfect dress and bought it!  It was so fun to see her in wedding gowns and she looks absolutely beautiful in the one she picked.  Too bad I will have to wait a whole year before I can post pictures.  She also asked me to be a bridesmaid and I could not be more excited!
Matthew surprised us and got us a hotel room for that night so we went to check in and then to happy hour.  Suzi joined us and we had a great time catching up.  Then we got changed and went to dinner at Bolla, which was so good.  The lobster mac and cheese was amazing!  We were all pretty tired after the long day so we called it a night.
Saturday morning we went to brunch at Cafe Brazil and then to our spa appointment at noon.  We each had an hour long foot massage, and hour full body massage, and then an hour long facial.  It was heaven!!  We all looked a little rough afterwards, but that didn't stop us from walking across the street to go see the Hunger Games.  We had all read the books so we could not wait to see it.  Sarah was still trying to finish it, and she literally read the last page during the previews.  The Magnolia theater was so nice, and we even shared two bottles of wine during the movie.  Can't get much better than that!  :)  After that we walked to Mi Cocina and had dinner on the patio.  Donna and I got back to Ennis around 9:00 and showered and went to bed.  I even slept in on Sunday morning before coming home.

Evie is 9 months

Weight:  19 pounds 12 ounces (50-75%)
Height:  28.25 inches long (75%)

  • Size 3 diaper
  • Your size is all over the place.  You can still wear some 6 month things and are starting to fit into some 9-12 month clothes as well.
  • Four 8 ounce bottles a day, along with breakfast and dinner.  I gave you some Mum Mum's and Puffs the other day and you liked them okay.
  • You are sleeping great.  You go down at 8 and sleep around 12 hours.  You usually take a good 2-3 hour nap in the morning (if we are home) and then another 1-2 hour nap in the afternoon.  Sometimes you need a little cat nap around 5 or 6pm too.
  • You have a tooth!  One came in last week and I'm sure the one next to it will be here soon.
  • You will scoot backwards if on your tummy, but other than that you still have no interest in moving.  There is nothing you want bad enough that will make you move.  ha!  You still can't even put yourself in sitting position from laying down.
  • You love your Bubba!  You are constantly watching him and laughing at him.
  • You are saying "ma-ma" now.  It is the sweetest little sound.
  • You are trying to clap.  Your hands don't quite come together just yet though.  You also love playing peek a boo and pat a cake.
  • You love books and anything you can chew on.
  • You are still our passy girl.  I put three in the crib with you and most nights you fall asleep with one in your mouth and then one in each hand.
  • I think we may be close to the separation anxiety phase.  You don't cry when we leave you just yet, but you do get a look on your face like "what are you doing to me?" when we drop you off.  You will reach for me and if someone tries to take you from me you hold me close.
  • You are such a happy baby and we love you so much!

you can see her tooth here
