Halloween Weekend

We had a fun and busy weekend. I was excited when I realized that Mason would get to wear his costume to 4 different places this year. What I wasn't expecting is for Mason to hate wearing it! On Thursday he had his party at school, and I put on his airplane in the parking lot and he just threw the biggest fit and I had to drag him into his class. Then on Friday, we had the Pumpkin Party at Gymboree and he hated it there as well!

not too happy about his costume!
much better!
his shirt says, Awesome (see above for details)

On Saturday, we had Maddie's 2nd birthday party. It was a costume party and Erin had everything decorated so cute! Mason threw another fit when I put his costume on, but he actually left it on for about 20 minutes. I felt like maybe there was hope for Halloween after all!

Her cute cake looked just like the invites
Brown and Briggs (little ducklings)

On Saturday night we were invited to the Hanna's Halloween party. It was a Willy Wonka theme. Everyone's costumes were so cute and the house was decorated so cool. I asked Teresa to help me with our costumes since I don't have any artistic abilities whatsoever, and she can make anything! She went above and beyond and spent so much time making these. I really didn't help with much except play with the kids while she worked. Thanks, Teresa for all your hard work!

Halloween was so much fun! We had a big group over to our house for a hayride and trick-or-treating. The Dicharry's made jambalaya and we ate dinner and loaded up in the trailer. Neil and Trey were so nice to get the trailer and truck loaded and drive us around the neighborhood. It's nights like this that I am reminded of how much I love our neighborhood! There were kids everywhere, and people sitting outside waiting to pass out candy. Mason really liked trick or treating. He was saying "trick or treat" all day, but got a little shy to say it in front of the neighbors. He actually wore his costume ALL night! I was so happy!

my little airplane
His arms were supposed to hold the wings outward, but he didn't want to do that!
A little jump time with the golfer and fairy
The kids had a blast this year! We had a fairy (Maddie), Super Woman (Caroline), a golfer (Bennett), bumblebee (Georgia), airplane and black spiderman (Shep) -not pictured were the twin ducklings (Brown and Briggs) and little pumpkin (Ford)

Love these girls: Erin, me, Lindsey and Erinn

A funny story: Mason walked into 2 different houses of people that we didn't know while trick or treating! The first one, all the kids were waiting for candy and Mason just walked in front of them and straight into the person's house! Matthew had to go get him from their living room. Then a few houses later, he bypassed the woman handing out candy and walked into her kitchen. I had to go in and get him. He was just looking around! I guess he assumes that if someone opens their door, that you are supposed to walk on in! :)

I can't wait to see how much these kids will have changed by next year! I hope we make this a tradition!
