Evie at 2

31 pounds (87%)
36 inches (91%)

It is hard to believe that our baby girl is two!  Here are a few things about her right now.

She loves her Bubba.  She will copy anything and everything that he does.  It is hard to explain, but if you were around them for even five minutes you would see what I am saying.  He could jump, spit, sit, turn in a circle, run, make a sound, literally anything that he does she does to.  I have never seen anything quite like it.  This has been a good learning experience for Mason because we explain to him how he needs to make good choices so that Evie does too.  I'm sure the copying will annoy him at some point, but for now he loves it.

Evie has been in speech since the end of April.  When she started she was only saying about five words, and now she is up to around 30 words (signing and speaking).  She is slowly starting to expand her vocabulary, and I hope that therapy continues to help her.  She comprehends a lot, she just can't vocalize it.  She can point to her colors, match some uppercase letters, and match shapes.  It is hard to know what all she is taking in since she can't say anything.  She still loves to read books, so I think she is learning, just a little slower than she should be.

She is a girly girl.  She loves to play with her babies.  She sleeps with a baby now, and I can see her on the monitor "rocking" and covering up her baby with her lovey and going to sleep.  She loves her new dress up clothes she got for her birthday and loves to accessorize with jewelry, heels, and purses.

She is finally passy free!  We took it away the week before her birthday and I was more upset that she was.  She did not shed one single tear.  I am still amazed how she could be attached to something for two years and then just get rid of it without being upset.  The first night I watched her on monitor and she was looking for it in her bed, but then just laid down and went to sleep even though she couldn't find it.  I think it helped that she couldn't say the word passy, so she couldn't ask for it.

She loves to be outside.  She loves to play in the sand box, slide, and swing.  She loves to swim.  She is such a great swimmer, it still surprises me that she is so comfortable in the water.

She is still a pretty good eater.  She loves water and milk, Mexican food, Chinese food, spaghetti, most fruits, mac and cheese, hot dogs, yogurt, and applesauce to name a few.

She has had a few instances where we put her in time out, but most of the time we just have to look at her and say no, and she will curl her lip out and her eyes will swell up with tears.  She definitely knows how to work us over!

She is scared of flies.  It really is kind of funny, she will flip out if she sees one!

She has recently started understanding that we pray before meals.  As soon as we sit around the table, she holds her little hand out and says "pway."  I told Matthew we must be doing something right!

She is sweet and loving.  She will kiss and hug you and make sure that everyone is ok.  She is pretty social considering she can't say much.  We will be out and she will say hi to everyone she sees (except for older men... not quite sure about them yet!)

She loves to Skype. She asks about 10 times a day to call someone.

She is stubborn and independent. It makes me laugh and drives me crazy. I cannot wait to watch her personality continue to grow!

She is such a joy in our lives and loved so much.  I still can't believe that I am lucky enough to be her mommy!
