I had the best Mother's Day even though it started out rough on Saturday night when I dislocated my knee. Matthew and I were changing the sheets on Evie's bed, and my knee hit the side of her bed and just popped out. Thank goodness Matthew was home to put it back in for me! Poor Evie was traumatized because of my screaming. She just started screaming/crying and ran and hid in the hallway because she didn't know what was going on and was so scared.
On Sunday morning, I got to sleep in and then was woken up to baked french toast and bacon, mimosas, flowers, and gifts. Matthew took the kids to Target and told them they could pick out anything they wanted to for me. Evie chose a Hello Kitty manicure and lip gloss set and Mason chose a candle and some bright red lipstick. Matthew said that Mason took his sweet time looking at all the lipsticks and candles and picking out just the perfect ones for me. Matthew got me a personalized necklace with all three of my babies on it and a journal for the kids to write/draw and answer questions in. He plans on letting them do that for every Mother's Day and birthday so I can keep it forever without having to keep track of cards each year. (This was my idea that I told him to do!)
Our original plans were to go to the zoo, but it snowed. We decided to skip church since it was so nasty outside and instead went bowling and out to lunch. After lunch, we all came home and took naps and then Matthew made us a homemade bacon and brussel sprouts pizza. It was so good! I felt really loved and spoiled this year. I love being a mommy more than anything in this world!
