Mason meets Santa
Last night we took Mason to see Santa. He hasn't seen Santa anywhere this year yet, so I wasn't sure how he would react. I told him all day we were going to go see him. Mason was excited talking about sitting in Ho Ho's lap (he calls Santa Ho Ho). Now last year, I really thought he would cry, but he didn't, and his first Christmas he was only a few months old, so we got a little smile then too. As we were walking through the mall, he was happily talking about Ho Ho, and then he saw him. I wish I had a picture of that face! It was shock/fear and his mouth about fell to the floor. He immediately wanted me to hold him, so I took him over and Santa talked to him. I might be a mean mom, but I didn't think him crying in Santa's lap for a few seconds to get a picture was going to traumatize him! I love pictures where kids are crying in Santa's lap and I have been secretly wanting one of my own! Mason was crying out for his mama while the lady took a few pictures, then Santa let him down, and he ran to us. He was fine and we got a picture to keep forever! Of course, once he was a safe distance away from Santa he starts saying "bye bye Ho Ho" and this morning he was talking about him like he loved him!
