On Wednesday November 17 (2 days before I was supposed to leave for New York) I was bleeding and cramping. I hurried to the doctor expecting the worst, but they did find a heartbeat. It was music to my ears! They found a hematoma on my uterus and sent me home on bed rest. The next day, more blood and more cramping, so back to the doctor I went. Again, we heard the heartbeat. The doctor told me that NYC was out of the question and that I needed to lay down as much as possible over the weekend and come back on Monday.
I was in a lot of pain over the weekend, especially if I tried to do too much. On Monday, I saw my doctor for the first time since this happened (I saw the NP the other 2 times) and she told me because of the size and location of hematoma that there was still a chance of miscarriage. She told me not to lift Mason, or anything else, and not to do a lot of walking. So after talking over with Matthew, we decided we better not make the 6 hour drive to Abilene for Thanksgiving. I spent the majority of the week laying on the couch while Matthew played Super Dad and Super Husband and took care of us. I really don't know what I would have done without him!
So here we are, the first part of December, and I am still in the same boat. I went to the doctor last week and the original hematoma is smaller (Thank you, Lord!) but they did find another one. We did find out that 90% of the time, hematomas will disappear by the second trimester, so we are hoping and praying we only have a few more weeks of this. I am still in quite a bit of pain if I am up on my feet too much, but am doing what I can. Mason is going to school 3 days a week, so that helps me be able to rest more.
Granna came in this weekend for the Top 40 gala. She cooked so many meals for us to freeze and last throughout the week and she finished decorating my house for Christmas. We are so grateful for her help!
I will be 10 weeks on Monday and go back to the doctor on December 15. We would love your prayers as we try to make it through these next few weeks. We are hoping and praying that this baby continues to fight and grow stronger and stronger each day.
