Two and a Half!!

Oh sweet Mason, how can it be that in only six short months you will be THREE?! You are turning into such a big boy, but no matter how old you get, you will ALWAYS be my baby! Here are some things you are up to at two and a half:

-You go to sleep around 8:30 and wake up around 7:30 or 8:00 and take a 2-3 hour nap everyday. You never fight bedtime and always wake up singing. You don't nap at school, so you usually fall asleep when we get home and I have to wake you up or you would sleep until bedtime. I think you just like your bed and lovey and don't want to sleep on the floor! You and your Daddy have a special bedtime routine. He reads you 3 or 4 books (or however many you can convince him to read), you sing the ABC song, count to 10, and you even let him rock you like a baby. He then puts you in your bed and covers you up. Then it's your special handshake: fist bump, high five, thumbs up, Guns up (tx tech sign).
-You love, love, love music and to dance. I think you must always have a beat in your head!
-Still in size 4 diaper and have NO interest in potty training. I know you will get it eventually so I am not stressing about it.
-Some of your favorite foods are: chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, baked potatoes, chinese food, beans, apples, grapes, oranges, applesauce, yogurt, waffles, pretzels and chips. Still not a meat or cheese eater.
-You LOVE to play outside and kick your soccer ball. You love your trains, cars, balls and blocks.
-Your favorite color is orange. You are borderline obsessed. You want to wear orange clothes, eat orange food, use orange cups and plates, etc.
-You are a Daddy's boy! He is your hero and he is perfect in your eyes. I love to watch you and your Daddy together, it melts my heart! I know you will always be close.
-You are talking up a storm! I don't think you ever stop talking when you are awake. Your most used sayings are "watch me momma/daddy" and "what's/who's that?" You remember everything and always state the obvious like, "momma drinking water?", "daddy wearing red shirt?", "Mason wearing shoes?" and expect us to answer you or you will keep saying it over and over. There are still times when we can't understand what you are saying and you get super frustrated with us because to you, you are speaking perfectly!
-You are shy in front of new people, but usually warm up pretty quickly
-You love going to school and talk about Ms. Judi, Ms. Chad and tell us about your friends. You have always been good at school, but just this week when I went to pick you up you were in time out. You had a tough day with listening and I think were just testing your teachers! Little stinker! Ms. Judi told me last week that she has never been around such a happy little boy. She said you just smile all day long! What a compliment!
-You are stubborn and can throw the best temper tantrums if you don't get your way! Daddy and I have to be careful because we usually want to laugh but know it won't always be funny. We put you in time out which works sometimes and doesn't work other times.
-You are very loving and tenderhearted. You do not like to see other kids/people sad or hurt. You love to give kisses and hugs.
-You love to sing. Some of your favorites are ABC's, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Wheels on the Bus, Hokey Pokey and If You're Happy and You Know It
-Wearing size 2 in pants and 2T and 3T shirts. Size 7 shoe
-You love to watch Toy Story, Cars, Despicable Me, and Mickey Mouse
-I know we are biased, but we think you are the cutest little boy in the world. Your curly hair, big brown eyes, and contagious smile are just too much for me sometimes!

These next six months I know you are going to grow up so much. You will be moving to your new big boy room, be potty trained (hopefully!), and your biggest role will be becoming a big brother! I'm planning on soaking up these next few months with you being my only child. You are the joy of our lives, and we love you more each day. I pray you always know how much you are loved.
