Weekend of fun

We have had the best weekend exploring our new area.  Mason keeps saying that we are going on "adventures" and I have to agree.  Donna found me this book called Playdates in Denver, and so far this week we have gone to three different places in it.  The book has around 200 activities and places to go around Denver with kids.  I can't get over how many parks/playgrounds there are.  Pretty much every block has a different one.
First up, was Belleview Park on Friday morning.  I forgot my camera, but the park had two playgrounds, a petting farm, a creek to swim in, and a mini train to ride.  It was a lot of fun and we will definitely be going back.
Saturday morning, Matthew had a massage at 8 and I had one at 10.  After that, we loaded up and went to Redstone Park.  It had playgrounds, a grassy area for play, a pond for fishing, and ducks to feed.  We stayed for a couple of hours and then went home for naps.  That night we went to walk around the mall and eat dinner.
This morning was my favorite.  We drove about 30 minutes to the Cherry Creek Swim Beach.  It is a big state park that has a lake and a "beach." Mason loved it!  He kept swimming in the lake saying how much he loved the "ocean."  Evie enjoyed the sand and water too.  We took a picnic lunch and spent the whole morning out there.  This is a place I can see us going to every weekend this summer.  Next time we know to bring a tent, chairs, and beer!
I told Matthew how I wish he only had to work two days a week and that we could have five days a week to play.  Too bad it doesn't work that way!

he's getting pretty good at hitting

This is one second where she is watching the boys play...

and then the next time I look she is like this!

she could swing all day long

Every single park here has these sand/water features.  I've never seen anything like it, but it is always a big mess.  I bought him some play shoes and put him in his swim suit so he can get as muddy as he wants.

He is in heaven with the muddy water!

This is one side of the beach.  Crazy to see mountains from anywhere we are.
coming in from a swim

time for sand castles

it's impossible to get a picture with them both looking
