Welcome to Colorado

The Monday after Evie's party, we loaded up and started our drive towards Denver.  Donna rode with me and the kids and we followed Matthew.  We had planned to split up the drive into two days, which turned out to be a great idea.  The first day we drove 7 hours to Amarillo.  The kids were great.  It seriously couldn't have gone any better.  Evie never made a peep, and Mason never stopped talking, but he was good too.  We only had one stop for lunch and one stop for gas and that was it.  We stayed in a hotel in Amarillo, ordered pizza, and swam at the hotel pool.
Day 2 was a little longer.  I knew we were in for a long day when 10 minutes after leaving, Mason had to go to the bathroom.  We had to make several other stops throughout the day for potty breaks and lunch too.  Mason was starting to get restless and his new toys only kept him occupied for a couple of minutes before he was ready for something else.  We gave him to Matthew after lunch thinking he would sleep, but he just cried for mommy and Granna for an hour and a half!  So we felt bad, and let him get back in car with us.  Again, Evie was awesome and slept and/or just looked out window for both days.  She never cried once.
After another 8 hours we pulled into our hotel in Denver on Tuesday night.  We were pretty upset to find out that our truck full of stuff wouldn't arrive until Friday morning, so we had to stay in the hotel the rest of the week.  It worked out for the best though, because we could rest up before all the unpacking.  Matthew went to work while Granna and I explored our new neighborhood, found some parks, and went to story time at the library.  Mason was so used to being in a hotel that he started referring to himself as "the elevator man"  ha!  We enjoyed the hotel pool and even took the train to downtown Denver and walked around the 16th Street Mall and ate dinner.
Friday through Monday was spent unpacking.  I can't believe how much stuff we have!  We worked so hard and made this house feel like home.  Granna cooked us great meals, along with getting me organized.  There is no way we could have made this move without her help.  She went home on Wednesday so now my real world begins.  I'm looking forward to finding fun things for us to do this summer!

We have a park within walking distance of our house

This is how we had to keep kids while the movers were unloading.  They did pretty good!

This picture makes all the tears of moving worth it.  I love that my kids can see their daddy everyday after work!
