Date Night- Couples' Cooking Class

Matthew, Mark, and Seth all have August birthdays, so we knew we wanted to do something fun to celebrate.  I had seen this cooking school one day while I was out and mentioned it to Natalie and Leslie, and we just decided to book it.  It was so much fun and not your average date night!
The class was called "Romance in Rome."  We were seated in the dining room with champagne and appetizers while we waited for everyone to get there.  We had a little lesson on food in Italy, and then went back to the kitchen to start cooking.

Natalie and Seth
First up, was making the dough for the sweet ravioli.  I could get used to cooking like this if I always had a su chef measuring ingredients and cleaning up after me.

stuffing the ravioli with ricotta and apricot preserves to put in oven

the chef also gave us lessons on how to cut vegetables properly

getting the first course ready

First course: Mozzarella in Carroza with Marinated Tomatoes.  We would finish making a course then go back to dining room to eat.  Each course was paired with a different wine.  When we were done eating, we would go back into the kitchen (that was clean) and our next ingredients were laid out for us.

each couple had their own little work station

shrimp frittata

The hardest part was turning the frittata.  You can kind of see in this picture that eggs went flying everywhere when Matthew turned ours!

Seth and Natalie's looks great!

Main course: Shrimp and Asparagus Frittata paired with Merlot
And for dessert- Sweet Ravioli with Ricotta and Apricot Preserves paired with Moscato and Lemoncello

Such a fun night!
