This was Matthew's first time to keep Mason all by himself for 4 days. I knew they would have a great time, and I was looking forward to Matthew getting a dose of what I do everyday! I loved getting pictures of what they were doing and especially loved seeing what Matthew dressed him in each day. (What is it about dads dressing kids in something that moms would NEVER dress them in?!)
They did plenty of fun things like go see Granna for a night, went to the park, to the office, donut shop, chick fil a, and spent plenty of time playing in Mason's "house" outside. Matthew said there were a few mishaps too: Mason falling at the park and blood gushing down his leg, a fall down the stairs, and the worst of all losing Lovey for a night!
For those that don't know, Lovey is the blue dog that he has slept with at EVERY nap and EVERY night since he was only a couple months old. We have been fortunate enough to never have lost him before. (we don't have a backup either!) I got plenty of frantic texts/calls while Matthew was looking everywhere for Lovey. He seriously looked for hours and even had Mason downstairs looking with him. At bedtime, Mason was crying for daddy to "find it" and after no luck, he eventually cried himself to sleep. I can only imagine how hard that was on both of them! The next morning while they were in our bathroom and Matthew was getting dressed, Mason remembered where it was and went and opened up a cabinet in the bathroom and pulled out Lovey! Matthew said Mason screamed, jumped up and down and gave kissed and hugs to Lovey and to him. He was one happy boy! He hasn't let it leave his side since either.
All in all, I know they had such a great time together. I am so grateful to have married such a wonderful husband and dad. I came home to a clean house with the laundry and dishes done too! Those 2 boys are my life and I don't know what I would do without them!
Going to see Granna and watching a movie
swinging at the park
boo boo (and he didn't shed a tear) the funny thing is that Matthew took him to Georgia's to get a bandaid and all she had were Princess ones and he would not put it on! ha!
And just for a walk down memory lane, here is a picture from the first time Mason slept with Lovey. I had no idea back then that Lovey would become a part of our family! (thanks Marcy! I hope you are on the lookout for a lovey for baby #2!!) :)
