Evie at 11 months

  • Oh Miss Evie, how you have grown this month!  You are signing "more", waving bye bye, clapping, dancing, playing peek a boo, and patty cake.  You are constantly "talking" and always seem to have some thing to say.
  • You LOVE food!  You really love to feed yourself and love table food.  I'm slowing backing off on baby food and giving you more and more real people food.  There is nothing that you haven't liked so far.  I hope you are a better eater than Mason and will actually drink milk in a month.
  • The biggest accomplishment is that you are finally crawling!  At 10.5 months (on May 9), I took you to see Dr. Crittell because you were still not crawling.  You also were not pulling up or getting into sitting position by yourself.  Crittell agreed that you probably needed some PT help.  I was surprised that they were able to get you in the very next day for an evaluation.  That afternoon on the 9th, we were upstairs in Mason's room and all of a sudden you just took off crawling on all fours!  I was in total shock!  You were such a pro like you had been crawling for weeks.  You continued to crawl a few feet at a time the rest of the night, but I decided since I already had the PT appointment that I would take you anyways.  You sure showed me- at the evaluation you not only crawled, but pulled up, sat up, and even took a couple of steps holding on!  The PT was so nice and just thought it was the funniest thing in the world.  This just goes to show me that you are going to be one stubborn, strong-willed little girl who will do things when you are ready and not when everyone else says you should be doing something. (I need to remember this in a few months when I am wondering why you aren't walking)
  • Now you are all over the place and into everything.  You especially love to put anything and everything into your mouth which has us on constant watch.  Even your Bubba will take something from you if he thinks you could choke on it.
  • Speaking of your Bubba, the two of you have so much fun together!  The other day you were both crawling on each other and Mason said to me, "look mommy, me and Evie are friends!"  That made my heart melt!  I know there will be plenty of fighting, but I hope you two are always friends and enjoy playing with each other.  Your new game with him is screaming as loud as you can while he does the same thing.  It is like fingernails on a chalk board, but also cute at the same time.
  • You have 3 teeth.  Two on the bottom and one on the top.  Daddy says you look like a can opener!

My heart is breaking that you are only one month from being a big, one year old!  We love you so much sweet girl!
