Evie at THREE

Weight- 36 pounds (80%)
Height- 38.75 in (99%)

I don't even know where to begin writing about Evie at three.  She is a mess.  A cute, stubborn, independent, prissy, girly, sweet, sassy mess.  She makes me laugh and want to pull my hair out in the same breath.  She is the sweetest big sister- I was a little surprised at that.  I expected some jealousy issues when Charlotte arrived, but she has been nothing but the best big sister.  She hugs and kisses her every chance she gets.  She loves treating her like her doll and wants to help me with everything. She was made to be a middle child.

She worships Mason.  She copies everything that he does and wants to be just like him.  She thinks his friends are her friends and loves to follow them around.  With that said, she knows exactly how to push his buttons too.  They really are the best playmates though.

She loves to play dress up, play with baby dolls, read, and do arts and crafts.  She loves jewelry, makeup, and getting her nails painted.  Even though she is such a girly girl, she also loves to get dirty.  She loves playing outside in the dirt, but she doesn't love when her hands are sticky.

She is an okay eater.  She could live off of hot dogs, corn dogs, noodles with butter, grapes, and strawberries.  She is getting better at trying new things though.  She loves milk and water.  She will pick those over juice or anything else to drink.

Aunt CC made his blanket for her and she loves it.  She says it is really warm and super soft.  :)

She is a great sleeper.  She sleeps around 12 hours at night and takes a 2-3 hour nap every day.  I have had to wake her up this week for VBS at 7:15 and she sounds like a teenager when I go in her room.  She says, "why do you keep waking me up?  Just five more minutes."  Then she finally sighs, rolls her eyes and says "fine!  But I'm not happy with you waking me up all the time."

Attitude- She is full of it.  When she doesn't get her way, she will sigh, cross her arms over her chest and leave the room.  Not sure how we are going to deal with the teenage years!  She is also the sweetest little thing.  She is always telling us she loves us, gives hugs and kisses, loves to snuggle, and doesn't like it when we are sad.  When she does get into trouble, all we have to do is look at her and she will crumble.  I think she just knows how to work us.

Lezlee gave her this vanity and it is perfect.  She will sit and do her hair and makeup all day long.

This is what she does the most of during the day.

She loves, loves, loves her Daddy.  She is a classic Daddy's girl in every sense of the word.  She always asks why he has to go to work all the time.  She tells him she wants him to stay home with her forever.  At night, when we say prayers, she will ask if daddy has to go to work tomorrow, and if we say yes, then she leaves him out of the prayer.  If we say no, then she will pray for him!

Potty training is not going well.  She has been saying for weeks that when she turned three she would go on the potty.  The day she turned three, she decided she will go when she turns four.  We are starting the sticker charts, jelly bean rewards, and potty prizes, but she just doesn't care that much.  Just like everything else, she will do it when she is ready, not when we are.  July is busy with travel and camps, so I am just trying when we are home.  In August we will have to get serious about it.  It surprises me that she doesn't want to wear panties because she always talks about what a big girl she is.  She also tells me that she can't wait to be even bigger so that she can have a phone and keys.  :)

It is hard to believe that this time last year she was in speech because she only said ten words.  Her vocabulary blows me away now, and she talks from the moment her eyes open until they close at night.  She talks just to hear herself talk.  It is quite comical.

She is just starting to like to watch tv.  She likes Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Team Umizoomi, but it is hit or miss if she will actually sit and watch it.  I think she mostly does because she wants to do what Mason does, and Mason loves to watch tv and movies.  She does like Frozen and will go around the house singing Let it go all day long.

She doesn't love doing "school" stuff like Mason always has.  She does know all her colors, shapes, capital letters and some lowercase, can spell her name, and count to 13.  I can't force her to do anything, but when I am sneaky about it, she will do it.  I know she will learn it all in time so I am not stressed about it like I would have been with Mason at this age.

I'm excited for this next year for her.  She will be in preschool three mornings a week and also start ballet.  I hope she loves dance as much as I did!

Some funny sayings:

I was telling her about taking her to the doctor for her three year well visit.  She asked why we had to go and I told her the doctor needed to make sure she was growing big and strong.  She thought for a minute and said, "grow like my flowers?"  (she planted grass and brought it home.  We had watered it and watched it grow for awhile and then they died so I threw them away.)  So, I said yes just like your flowers.  Then she so innocently asked, "when I grow bigger are you going to throw me away too?"

polkem pots- polka dots
bycause- because
formorrow- tomorrow
ham-mam-burger: sausage biscuit
so exciting- she will say "I am so exciting" instead of excited
ding dong pizza- delivery pizza
She calls every boy and girl a brother and sister, and every man and woman a mommy and daddy.
Old McDonald- McDonald's
Caca ha- helicopter
Lemomlem- Lemonade
I was letting her order sprite at some restaurants and she decided she didn't like it because "spite is ficy" or sprite is spicy.  I guess she doesn't like the carbonation.
