First Day of "School"

Today was the first day of school. It is the same place where he went last year, but this year he will be going on Tuesday/Thursday from 8:30-2. He is in the Older Twos class, which makes him the baby of the class. I took him to the Parent Orientation last week to meet his teachers, and he threw the biggest fit thinking that I was going to leave him. I knew he would be the same way today. When we turned into the parking lot he started crying and saying "no"! Matthew went with us, so I was glad to have him there. We walked him into his classroom and he was just crying and crying wanting Matthew to pick him up. At one point he ran out the door after us! Poor baby! I know he will do fine, it will probably just take him a couple of weeks to warm up. We left him crying, but I'm sure it didn't last long. When I went to pick him up, he was SO happy to see me. He immediately started telling everyone bye and fist bumping his teachers! They said he did pretty good. He would get upset when someone else would start getting upset. I guess it was like a chain reaction--if one kid started crying for their mommy, they all would. This year they have to sleep on a nap mat, which I think is so funny. I asked how he did and the teacher said that he stayed on it the whole time but never fell asleep. I'm sure that will take some time too. He fell asleep on the way home though. I know he will have a great year, and I will be able to get so much done while he is there. Today, I took a day for myself and got a massage. It was so relaxing! I made a new tradition for myself--a massage every first day of school! :)

This was the first day last year. Such a baby!

Tried to get the same pose, but didn't happen!
This is what he really felt like this morning! Oh the joys of being 2!
Such a big boy with his backpack on

It was hard to leave this face!
His craft for today. He keeps giving it a "high five"!
