Two years ago today...

September 9, 2008 We had no idea if we were having a boy or girl. We went to Superior Steakhouse for dinner for our last date night as just the two of us. I remember being so nervous that I didn't eat a bite! We then had to come home and wait until midnight to leave for the hospital.

We took my last belly pic in the nursery before we left. So excited to find out if we were meeting Mason or Audrey!

I found this letter that I wrote on August 25, 2008-

My little baby,

In a couple of weeks I will be holding you in my arms. I have been dreaming of that day for the past nine months, well actually probably since I was a little girl playing with my baby dolls. I have dreamed of being a mom my whole life, and I never thought I would be lucky enough to have your Daddy to go through life with. He has taken such good care of us and I know that he always will. You are so blessed to have him! Many people ask me if I want you to be a boy or girl, and the truth is that I can find so many positive things about both. All I want is for you to be happy and healthy. I will love playing either cars and trucks or baby dolls and Barbies with you. I can’t wait to read to you and to rock you to sleep. I can’t wait to take you to the park and the zoo and to take you on trips. I can’t wait to see you smile for the first time and hear you say Mama and Dada. I can’t wait to watch the world through your eyes and enjoy every one of your “firsts.”

I hope that you get your Daddy’s ability to lead, his strong work ethic, his professionalism and his silliness, his generous spirit, and his loving heart. Let’s hope you get my patience and sense of direction!:)

I have absolutely loved being pregnant with you. The heartburn, nausea, and fatigue are nothing compared to the joy I get when I feel you move around and I especially love when you get the hiccups!

Only a couple of short weeks and our lives will forever be changed. I can’t wait! I can’t wait to meet you, my precious angel.

I love you,

Your mommy

It makes me tear up to read it now. I had no idea how much Mason Jarrett Montgomery would change our lives!
